Handheld CU tracking shot

For a shoot I have coming up in a week, there's a shot I want of a character walking and a CU on their face. Ideally I'd want a steadicam for it but the budget is short for that. I should have enough track to cover the shot on a dolly but it would be close and I'm curious if anyone has a good example I could look at of a CU handheld tracking shot (the only real reason I'm considering is that the character is mixed up emotionally in the scene so I'm thinking it might work if it isn't too jumpy).

I'd try and build some sort of body mount. Something cheap and fast with your time frame, but you could also use a dolly which will work fine.

For a drama the body frame would feel too frantic horror-ish (think I Am Legend). I feel like any given Wes Anderson film uses this type of shot quite a bit, though I'm unsure if it is a dolly or steadicam.

As a sidenote, what framerate will you be shooting in? This doesn't really relate to how you'll track the camera, I'm just curious.

I think we just found John a new avatar.

Also, call up some local Steadicam operators. If it truly is just one shot, it's a student film, and you can show that you are organized. There's a good chance a local op might be willing to cut you a deal. Newer ops might even be willing to do it for the cost of lunch to build their reel.
Never hurts to try; just be respectfull & humble and don't expect/demand anything when you call.
