Halloween 2010 - Exciting plans? Interesting costumes? Post it here.

One of my favorite holidays is coming up in Halloween! For the third year in a row a couple friends and I are going to set up a 'haunted garage' and spook the local kids who want our candy. I'll be taping it again this year with the HVX, on +18 gain of course lol.

Here is the video from a couple years back... you sort of had to be there to really get it, but there are some classic audio bytes to be heard throughout, if you can stand the dark grainy quality.

So.... what's everyone else doing? I wasn't invited to a costume party or anything so I'm not getting dressed up, but would love to hear what other creative endeavors people are doing this year, either in a costume or building a haunt.

On Halloween I'm gonna be upstairs with the window up and wait for the little kids to knock on the door below me. I'll consider their age and decide whether or not to scare the crap out of them. Then I'll toss candy into their sacks and hopefully not miss. Don't think I don't want a squirt gun but one prank means my house might get egged next day. So I'll stick to a BOO!

How'd it go? Got any footy or stills?

It went well! It was a quick shoot to get something out. It was an adjustment for me, though, because I went back to using a camcorder (EX1), and shooting at 30p (I couldn't bring myself to shoot in 60i). Here's what we ended up with:

Just got back from a screening of Suspiria. I'd never seen it on a big screen before, so that was sweet!

So. I'm deadmau5 for halloween. (This ghost was hanging in the middle of the road)

And last night when I was out with some friends, I got hungry.

Yeah.

Seeing the final performance of the touring version of "Wicked" tonight in Memphis's classic Orpheum Theater.
Seems appropriate.

Here are some images from the haunted garage I put together with a friend. We easily had over 100 kids come in... good times were had.

The demon head seen below was rigged with a string through a C-stand and a magic arm to drop on people who wandered in. The monitors were set up to display a looping video of creepy images and TV static (think The Ring)
