GH2 hackintosh to edit gh2 footage

askin for some advice as to what hardware to get for a hackintosh to edit my gh2 and hpx170 footage.

i say save yourself the hassle and just get a used mac. i edit gh2 footage just fine on my late 2008 octocore macpro. which can generally be had for about a grand
 
ya jus on tight budget to get cinema display too for under 1000 with tower thats decent.

what, so hackintosh is exact same as a Mac Pro execpt the Logo ?

Is a body kit on a fiero the same as a ferrari except the logo?

P.S. I'm a PC user.
 
The first question you need to ask yourself is “why do I want a hack instead of the real thing”? If it's just because of price, then definitely just get a used Mac Pro. They're still pretty solid, and very easy to upgrade with RAM and newer graphics cards. While building your own can seem awesome, you're not going to have an easy time updating your Mac OS X, and by extension your other programs as well. It's not as simple as plugging it in and it working, like with the real thing.
 
thats what i thought, but there is guides on how to do it. I found a local guy who has a used Mac Pro 1.1 Quad 2.66ghz , 6gb ram, 1tb hd for $625, he said its intel based , 256 mb gfx, i guess thats the way to go he also said it has pci e card slot for up to 1gb cards i think. Id just want to upgrade to 8-16gb ram.

I guess thats my best route then upgrade what i need?

said he would do trade for my 13' 2011 mbp , I know they are some what similar i just want to make sure it can handle my gh2 and hpx footage.
also My mbp is newer so im guessing maybe i should ask for an extra $100-150 for the trade?

Ive decided to get legit mac pro tower over a hackintosh.
