hacking vs patches in GH2

Hello, I am new to DSLRs and the gh2 , I am following guides and I installed flowmotion. Now I am looking at this starting guide and I see a chapter about hacking and a chapter about patches (chapters 3 and 4), Is this a different thing (patches and hacks)? did I hack the gh2 If I installed flowmotion?

The answer should be yes. Set the camera to "motion picture" mode with the dial on top then press the ISO button. If you now have ISO's over 3200 available, the Flowmotion patch is installed and you can consider your GH2 "hacked".
 
Yes , it is hacked then, what about the first question, patches and hacks are the same thing? I mean if patches are something extra you add after the camera is hacked or is all the same thing
 
@ Bruce: I installed the "No Adverse Affects" hack yesterday; when in MMM, available ISOs go up to 12,800—so the hack is installed? That's very good, if so; I searched over at personal-view for hours looking for this answer. Cheers, KL
