The canon has a more pleasing organic look if you will, while I like the clarity and apparent resolution of the hacked gh2.
Great footage.
Not only have you made a very convincing case for both, but you've made me realize how effective post crop animation and zooms can be.
Using 4~5K you could do some serious stuff.
If you don't mind sharing your technique I'd love to know what you did here. If so, either way, rockin/
Both look great. The GH2 footage was shot on an overcast day vs. the sunny Canon footage. Those flares with the golden hour really add to the footage with the Canon. Nice movement on the shots!
Only one shot jumped out at me as a post crop animation and it was at 1:15.
Thanks bgundu.
Yah, unfortunately the footage from the Canon was at a more desirable time of day with better light.
I watched that again. And you are right. I think that was one of the only shots that I did not start off with any real motion. So, I guess my feeling that if you add any post animation without actual movement it looks artificial.
I just watched Superseeds (see SIG) which is mostly RED MX, but has some entirely GH-2 scenes in it and they cut REALLY well.
This is pre-hack, also.A
I think if I can't get an EPIC free to low-no/cost I will be shooting GH-2 on the next feature.

Easy killer... those are some fight'n words!rogar-Happy(DBG):
Hey Koli, do you like the look of the gh2 over the canon? I'm going to be honest, For cropping and tracking the Gh2 does a much better job then the 7d, but just in terms of look?
....and THAT folks.....is the current state of things. Thanks for sharing Kholi!
