GH2 Hacked GH2 aerial footage mixed with FS100 and 5dII

We recently provided aerial footage from our hacked GH2, which was to be mixed with ground shots from a FS100 and 5DmkII, for a Specialized Bicycle web campaign. There was concern (not from me) that the little GH2 wouldn't mix in well with the other footage. We were prepared as always with backup Canon cameras, but after the DP saw what the hacked GH2 was producing, it didn't come back off the helicopter for the rest of the shoot.

Out of the short clips that made the final edits, the shot at 2:49 in this video is one of my favorites:

nice work! I'm just starting to get into rccopter shooting myself because I love getting just those kind of shots. what copter frame and gimbal system are you using? also, which gh2 hack and lens did you go with?

Bonjour,

really nice shot! I have the same questions then jmaxx. I allready have a GH2 no hack and cut it with HPX170 and HVX200.
Last week, I have been on a rccopter demo in Montreal. It was a cinestar8. very nice kit.
Now waiting for your setup.

Thanks for the comments.

To answer the questions, we are flying a Logo single rotor helicopter with some fancy on board stabilization for the maximum stability in wind and turbulence. Our gimbal is the Triax unit with a proprietary electronic stabilization system.

The multirotors are gaining in popularity because they are relatively easy to setup and get flying, but for high end professional work they have not yet replaced the single rotor helicopters like ours, which provide the most stable and reliable operation in a pro setting like a commercial shoot.

You can read more about our equipment on our website, http://www.onlocationaerial.com

I need to stop looking at all this heli footage before I do something I will regret later. But first I have to stop drooling.
