Hacked GH1 NTSC/PAL Switchable in Menu?

I keep reading that using PAL-> NTSC ticked in Ptool 3.40d allows "in-camera selection" between either PAL or NTSC via "the video out in the menu". I thought PAL or NTSC selection had to be done at the time of applying the hack.

Could someone please confirm this and explain exactly how to switch between PAL and NTSC in the menu of the hacked GH1.

I've tried this and can only find an NTSC option when I tick PAL-> NTSC...
 
If you have enabled it in the hack, then setting the PAL/NTSC video out to either will enable the GH13 to record in that mode, but only to separate SD cards. You can't record PAL and NTSC to the same card. Also i have to power down and remove/replace the battery for the mode change to work, it seems to be a little bug in the patch.

No big deal you only switch modes infrequently.
 
In your camera menu, set the video out (for previewing to a telly) to whichever standard you want. You'll have to restart the camera once you've changed it, and you can only record one standard per card.
 
remember you cant just switch half way through a shoot on the same card. you either reformat or insert a region specific pre formatted sd card in.
