Hi guys. I'd like to sell my GH1 and kit lens, with original box, manuals, and a 16gb class six transcend card.
This has been hacked with ptool and is pumping out amazing imagery. The AVCHD mode is especially wonderful and runs perfectly with the class six card. To use the MJPEG mode (setup currently for 1440x1080 4:2:0 recording averaging 73 mbs) you'll need a faster card. I can show you how to use the tool or put it back to the original firmware, but know that the warranty is no longer valid.
I love the GH1 and plan on getting another one. There is nothing wrong with this one, but it was purchased in September of last year (at Samy's Santa Ana), and I'm going to spend a few hundred bucks to see if the FPN does get better on new models. Might be a waste of money, as it's never been proven.
Cosmetically, this body is in good shape, with a few scratches on the bottom (tripod plate) side. The lens is in perfect condition.
It creates amazing images. Only caveat is that you will get Fixed Pattern Noise (vertical lines on footage) at varying levels of underexposure. It can be hard to predict and depends on contrast and where the light is coming from. This is a known issue with GH1s. Neat video helps a lot. It looks great in any kind of lit conditions and will still perform better than your consumer camcorder in low-light.
I'd like $850 for the package. I don't take paypal and would prefer not to mail it. Which means we could do it tonight in Hollywood, or tomorrow before 10 A.M. I will be at the Magic Castle tonight and if you call me at seven one four two seven four five three oh five I will let you in and you can have a beer with me, (you need a suit). I am staying at the hotel next door. (We'd close the transaction there.) Or I can be anywhere in Hollywood early tomorrow.
