GH2 Hack Gh2(kaes 65mbps patch and GH13 (ipowell's 100mbps Patch)

Not sure what the point is?

Not sure what the point is?

Without commentary or comparison to stock footage I don't know what the purpose of the post is? I have seen much better unhacked footage.

Personally, I will be using both patches in a short film very soon. I will be running camera tests next week on matching the GH1 to the GH2. I will post the results on DVXuser.

What I'm curious in is:
-Should I attempt to lower the GOP of the GH1 to match that of the GH2?
-How will movement look on each one?
-Will one have superior skin tones?

And the main question:
Will one hold up to color grading better than the other? It's my understanding that the advantage of hacking the GH2 is for (atm) better color grading.

I don't really see the use pf posting something about the encoding of a video when you put it on Youtube or even Vimeo, it gets reencoded. This one even is in 720!!
Guys if you want to do some test give us:
- an explanation of what you are trying to test as well as your conclusion.
- a comparative test without the modification.
- the original file.
- for Encoding tests, try something with more movement and details,
- also try a second file next to the original with extreme color corruption.
- actually some simple 1:1 pixel screen grabs may be more valuable than a low-rez Youtube Video.
- Give us more info on the settings you used, no just Kae's hack or Lpowel, I know their hacks, but it doesn't mean you haven't changed only one small thing it their setting.

Remember, if you do the test (with the conditions I wrote earlier) and don't see a difference, theres a good chance that there isn't any.

I agree with everything except for the part about specifying a hack by the username. It is fine to say "Lpowell" hack. That tells you exactly what settings were used. If you put their name on the hack you had better be using their specified settings exactly or you will hear about it from them.

this was encoded in 1080p the gop i had for gh13 using ipowells 100mbps patch was 6, personally i found very small difference between the 2 hack units. gh2 would have slightly better saturation
