GH4 Hack a ND filter onto Olympus 7-14mm 2.8

As the title suggests, I love the look of the Oly 7-14. It perfectly fits in with the other two lenses in my GH setup - the 12-35 panny and the 35-100 panny.

The only issue is that the fixed lens hood on the 7-14 means that screw thread NDs are a no-go.

I'm begrudged to carry around a rig and matte box just to use this lens as it goes against why I love shooting on the GH4 in the first place - the compact form factor.

So bar matte box, is there a way to hack ND onto this lens?

Are there some other options?

some people tape an ND gel to the back of the lens. I was thinking about cutting a glass ND and taping it to the back element.
But for action sports (my bread and butter) I just crank up the shutter and use motion blur in post (very useful for speed ramps)

I think your first step is to hold a 4.4 filter in front of the petals.

If it does not vignette you could consider 3d printing something.

If it does vignette you could consider a larger filter (poor plan) or removing the petals..

ND Gel is a good shout.

Would there be room on the back element for glass ND?

What do you use to add a convincing motion blur in post Losmignones?

3D printing, now it's getting exciting! Like a custom 4x4 holder for the oly 7-14.

I use reelsmart motionblur; depending on the shot results can be very good. Great for speed ramps, that's how u get those crisp speedup to slowmo and freeze frame sequences.
