H264 question

Aram,

I was creating both. Ended up with a .mov. Jarred says .MOV so that all of the entries are the same. Are you using Windows or Mac?

I'm not familiar with that one. I used QuickTime 7 pro for my .mov. I've learned a lot in the last 48 hours about compression.

I'm sure somebody else can help you with this. FYI, there was a thread posted by Brandon and 'sticky'ed.
 
Thanks, I know how to do both I was just wondering if I was the only one making MP4s. If I have to I guess I will just export a .mov
 
Yeah I just looked there. I don't need to know how to make them though, just needed to know if it would make a difference since Sorensons version of h264 is AVC pro but in an MP4 wrapper. I was just wondering how many people were going to do the same. If I am the only one than I would make a .mov instead. If there are others making MP4s I will just stick with that. Its still an H264 just in another wrapper and will play in QT just as well.
I use Sonic Scenarist for my Mpegs since it gives much more control than any other program I've used so far.
 
Yeah, I was going to go with the MP4 for the same reasons - same diff, but decided to just tow the party line...
 
We are having difficulties trying to get a H264 file (Vegas 6) and time is running out so we may use the MP 4 instead .

Happened to me too. Open QTPro it will go to the website. Open your file from the file menu item. When the new window opens with your file. Close the first window by clicking the windows "X" (upper right). Then you should be good to go. Well, at least that worked for me.

Everytime I left the first window open, it would lock up.
 
Hey guys,

I had a similiar problem and was told to disconnect from the internet when trying to use the movie settings. It worked and saved my @&&.

AHA! Yep, I suspect that would do the trick too. When I close the first window it is the one that is connected to the QT website.
