h.264 Teaser. Camera: DVX+Andromeda

WOW. Very impressive... And kinda scary, I might add. I'm interested in seeing more of the project as it evolves.
 
Good GRIEF. I hadn't read much about Andromeda, but the quality there is failry well unbelievable. Well-shot, too. Excellent job.

how much HD space is required for 5 minutes of footage?
 
You know what? I haven't heard one negative thing about andromeda footage yet. The capture method is the only drawback--

This little teaser is freaking gorgeous. Dunno what the content is about-- but just look at how it's resolving the skin detail, the trim in the jeans, and the weave in the pillows.

Wow.
 
i don't know why every professional in the field laughs every time i ask about the andromeda.....

omg you can see the little hairs on her eyelids---clearly!!!
 
it doesnt capture sound to the mac does it?

is the raw footage noisy too? or did you add that?

the detail is REMARKABLE.

IT looks VAricam. but.... sharper......almost.

Simply stunning. The colours are especially vivid. No way can anyone tell this was shot on a 'DV' camera. The Andromeda mod is the Godsend for visual FX, if nothing else.
 
Is it just me or did the image look a bit washed out. The sharpness was really great, but it seemed really flat.

I assumed it was an editing choice.
 
That, plus the compression. For me, clips compressed with H.264 have gray blacks and whites. When loaded in OSX, however, they look well. So I would attribute it to that. Even with the compression, though, I liked the colours a lot. Nothing that can't be fixed, anyway, in a 4:4:4 colour space.
