H.264 having trouble running on Final Cut???

Hey guys... I just got my AF100 but my editor just told me that because of the camera giving the footage in H.264, we will have trouble editing in Final Cut due to the fact that that format (h.264) does not run properly in FC. Is this true? And if it is, is there any way around it?

Thanks

Your editor should use Log and transfer in FCP.
and select the option for AVCHD and select one of the ProRes 422
options.

And to put a cap on the discussion, you wouldn't want to edit in a Long Group of Pictures Codec anyhow, editing in I-Frames is vastly better.

Best,

Jan

Yup- you'll get much better performance going through Log and Transfer which will give you nice high quality ProRes versions perfectly optimized for editing/heavy effects work/etc.
