Guys check out our teaser for feature "Boxed In" and maybe win a 5D Mark III

Guys,
Just shot a new teaser for an thriller we are hoping to produce this year called "Boxed In"
We are currently raising funds through Indiegogo for not only "Boxed In" but a second feature as well to do it as a Micro-Double Feature. The trailer for that will drop in two weeks. If you like what you see from the first trailer mosey on over to our Indiegogo page. We have some unbelievable prizes. One of which is a brand new Canon 5D Mark III! Once we get over 400 donations of $25 or more, all the donors names will be thrown in a hat and one will win the camera. So even if the flick isn't up your alley, you have a chance to win a $3500 camera for $25 bucks. We have other amazing prizes as well, and honestly I hope you just love the concept of the movies, because we are extremely passionate about getting them made.

Quick bump guys. Check out the trailer, if you like, head over to our indiegogo page. www.indiegogo.com/doublefeatureoffright for a chance to win a brand new Canon 5D Mark III. Once we get 400 donations of $25 dollars or more you get your name tossed in the hat to win. We had 9000 youtube hits and raised over $1800 dollars on our second day. People are getting pumped about the project. Thanks in advance, hope you are the one to win the camera.

Almost 200 views. Thanks for the love DVX'ers. We went over $2K today. Hoping you guys are digging the teaser. Also wondering if you guys would be interested in me doing a blog about funding, producing and directing these flicks? We already have two articles coming out in a couple of horror mags. The momentum is really picking up. Let me know, I've been on DVXUser for a long time, and want to give back in some way.

Another great day

Another great day

Almost up to 300 hits, thanks guys. Slow day on indiegogo, but more than we had yesterday. Would love to hear what projects you guys are getting off of the ground and what tools you are using. Hit me up on here, let's talk movies.

Yo, ATrain.
Congratulations on getting a project off the ground. As someone who's looking to follow similarly, I'd definitely be curious to hear about your progress as you fund, produce and direct your film(s). Gotta admit, I was wide-eyed at the 150k, but I wish you the best of luck and hope you get what you need to make something you're proud of.
So I don't know about the silence on this thread, but I'm always up to talk movies.
Go get 'em.

JK thanks for hitting me up. The $150k is for two flicks. $75k per movie. We reached those numbers as my partner and I produced an indie film last year, with a budget of $150k. We both felt after it was over, that by limiting locations, finding a tight knit skilled crew, and prepping for deliverables much more effectively, we could knock out a good film for half. So the "Double feature of fright" was born. It's ambitious, but we're hoping the quality of the films, will get horror fans psyched. Also for budding filmmakers, we are doing a drawing for all $25 donors for a new 5D at the end. Thanks so much for responding, I was bummed no one had hopped on yet, but i would love to help anyone out with any projects they got. We learned a lot from the first flick, and i'm stoked about these new ones as well. Next teaser comes out in a little more than the week for Bloodline. What do you have cooking right now?

The 5D3's a nice little incentive. Is that also what you're shooting on?
I'm working on putting a micro budget feature together. Looking to shoot a prologue late sept/early oct to get into the story, characters and shooting style, and also to see how we do with the equipment we're planning to use. We'll start a crowd funding campaign sometime after that and use the prologue to help along with a small tour. It will be a first feature for me, so I'm excited about that. It's not horror, but I suppose it's still genre.
I'm always curious to read about people's projects on here and to see their progress. It's certainly motivating. And I appreciate the time it takes to maintain a blog or a thread like this. Keep up the good work. I'll be following along to see what I can pick up.

ATrain, it would totally cool if you blogged about your films. I would be curious what you learned on your previous film. Thanks for being willing to share!

Evening guys. Sorry for the radio silence, but it has been a whirlwind day. Two horror magazines are running articles on the flicks and I was prepping press kit stuff all day. So the funding so far is low, but the fan base is building almost 2k views on Vimeo and 18k on Youtube, and today we got our first contribution from someone we didn't directly know, so the message is getting out. Prexdealer, as far as the last flick it is called Awaken http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1894616/combined
One of my best friends Daric Loo wrote and directed it. It was a super natural romance, similar to the film "Somewhere in Time" and was an amazingly hard, fun, and fulfilling experience. We were so lucky to have Corey Sevier and Jordan Ladd as our leads, and after a little festival run, we signed with Osiris Entertainment for both domestic and international distribution. Though we made sure to make them two separate deals. It was a really hard sell, without A-list talent, so we decided for our next films, to go more of a genre route, to make the distribution a little easier. Production will present a whole new set of challenges with, stunts, special efx, etc. Here we go. :)

Here are a couple of behind the scenes shots I grabbed fromn Boxed In shoot. I'm the handsome portly one :)

Yeah, we thought why not go for old fashioned love story first time out, make it easy on ourselves. ;) Truthfully though Daric was a great director/editor, the script was also really good and I knew he could knock it out. I think it's a great idea, shooting a prologue to introduce the audience to your characters. What gear are you shooting the flick with? All of our behind the scenes and probably some insert stuff will be on 5D on our end, but after shooting scarlet, I fell in love. The flexibility in post is just too good.

is your Somewhere In Time movie viewable anywhere?
i'm going to be shooting on a hacked GH2 with some nice glass. love that camera. debating going anamorphic, but i'll likely have another guy shooting with a second DSLR rig(5D2) so i'm not sure how feasible it is to have one anamorphic and one not. maybe if i use one for close ups and crop it. dunno. anyway, i've got a little handheld rig and a steadicam and it's all pretty compact. i've shot plenty of footage with the rig, but the prologue will be practice adding in sound and lighting elements. i guess the goal of it technically would be to have something that could be tacked on to the beginning of the feature and it would match production value-wise. either way i'm up for the exercise.

Love the GH2 as well. Have you had a lot of experience cutting between the GH2 and 5D? We used the Af100 for a ton of insert shots on 'Awaken' For that it worked very well, but intercutting with the Red would have been hard. You might already know about this, but there is an adapter called a "cinemorph" made by a company called Vid-Atlantic http://www.vid-atlantic.com/cinemorphic.html
They have a screw on filter that simulates the vertical bokeh and flares of an anamorphic, while still bein able to shoot on any spherical prime lens. For the GH2 25mm or tighter and for the 5D 50mm and tighter. Any wider and it vignettes. But the results are freaking awesome. I'm thinking of testing it on our Scarlet when we shoot Boxed In. I love the anamorphic look, but shooting on that glass is an AC's nightmare. Good luck brother, stoked for you, and you'll have one backer for sure.

that's weird. my post didn't post.
anyway, i have cut between a GH2 and a 5D2. seems to work pretty well. and yeah the cinemorph is pretty cool. i was thinking about picking up a Panasonic LA7200 as you can focus through those. definitely need a diopter though for anything close or wider than f3. the one thing i'm struggling with at the moment is shooting with a vari ND filter. ever use one? can't seem to get rid of the ghosting on the image. everyone says they're a must have for DSLR shooting, so someone has to have it figured out.
thanks for the vote of confidence. really looking forward to seeing you get through this project. you're off to a great start. how lean is your crew?

We shot with Vari ND's recently on a webseries I was working on. I'll text my DP and ask him tomorrow. The LA7200 is really cool, good call. As far as crew goes the plan is, DP, 1st and 2nd AC. One AC will double as steadicam op. 1st AD and PA/2nd AD who will split off late and the day for paperwork and call sheets the next day. Production Designer. Any art dept. will hopefully be interns. 2 make-up, 1 costumer and 1 costume intern. 1 Grip 1 Gaffer. 3 PA's. 15 total crew.

Thanks brother and you do the same. Also I forgot to tell you about if Awaken is available. We have an estimated release for November, from Osiris Ent. Thanks again for checking out the post and if you can pass the info and trailer around to your network, I would really appreciate it. #getboxedin is our hashtag. Thanks Johnny
