Guitar Tapping

Robbie Comeau

Como's back. back again
Film: http://blip.tv/file/get/ComeauProductions-GuitarTapping572.mov

A friend came over and he started Guitar Tapping and I thought it was incredible.

I busted out the lights and cam, and I made a little video for him.

Here's some grabs. I used the Oktava mic right up close to the guitar so the audio is really clean/crisp..

DVX was as much of memory as possible:

-Detail Level: -3
-MASTER PED: -6
-Chroma Phase: Not sure
-Chroma Level: Maybe +4
-SQUEEZE
-24pA

And in post, just crushed the blacks, brought up mids, and desaturated it. Added a vignette as well.

Nothing big big, but I liked the CC.

Thanks for looking,

Robbie

Sueeeet - the tapping and the film.
I still love that special look the DVX does.

Thanks for sharing Robbie,

Frank

how many takes did you do to get all the different angles? and was the audio track just from one take?

i really liked it

Yea.

I recorded 3 rough angles.

One on his facial expressions, one of a wide shot which I didn't use much, and then the one of the fingers playing...Which was the track that I used the audio cause I was able to get the mic up close :)

I didn't bother syncing because:

a) Fairly tough to do
b) Making it even tougher cause every time he played, it was somewhat different.

I guess the one route to do this is to plug into a sound board, get 6 different cameras, and sync away :)
