Guitar Tapping 2

Damn, geez thats a sweet image Robbie, ya reckon you can post you scenefile in full mate??
I love that look. BTW, the edit was real nice too bud!

yes a story wud be nice. someting very simple. that shot with him walking made me think of a lonely musician on some kinda journey to find something . what that journey is or what that somthing is, i duno...didnt get that far :P

it was awesome and the quality was really good, but one thing that bothered me was the reflecting light off his back in the first shot.

by the way, can you tell me how you did the really wide picture?

Hi Robbie,

Thanks for sharing your scene file settings. Cheers!

I put em last nite, it appears Robbie does a bit of "color bending" and manipulation of the image. These settings on my DVX after a clean white bal still were a lot punchier and a lot warmer than his clip. -2 color temp on my DVX is still pretty warm.
He did mention to me in a PM that he does add a filter, not sure what though.
I'm gonna use this setting on a shoot I've got on the weekend, we'll see what eventuates.

I would suggest crushing your blacks some more in post (contrast) if you want it to look more like como's final footage as a start. Then play with the saturation from there. His colors still pop a fair amount, but messing with the contrast will help bring those darker areas down more, while keeping the lighter tones with a nice smoothness and color to them.... Robbie, can correct me if I am wrong. :)

Later.

Nice piece. Thanks for scene file info too.

I can write you something timed to the piece if you like.
You could shoot it MOS and just lay the track in.
Simple, illustrative plot line - light but effective.

PM me if you're interested.

I have to wonder if there aren't some built in differences between our cameras.
Yours being PAL, ours the lowly NTSC.
*You must know that NTSC stands for Never Twice the Same Color, right?
**And PAL is Perfect At Last.

Or, do you know the chips are identical and the standard conversion occurs downstream?

Just thinking aloud here- I don't know for certain.

Love guitar tapping! Very talented! Good camera work too, haha!

So you used a filter? It looks like you added a type of blurred vignette around the edges....Simple mask with a blur added perhaps?

Do more vids with that guy, you can get a lot of good material out of that for sure!
