Shot in 3 hrs with AF100, Zuiko 12-60, Nikon 85mm f1.4, and Voigtlander 25mm. Kessler slider V2 used for some of the tracking shots. Shot with available lighting @ 800 ISO, very light color correction on 3 or 4 shots using Color Finesse.

Very nice. Love the music and the pacing of the edit.

I'm curious - how much of it is the 85mm 1.4 and how much is the Zuiko zoomed?

Actually very little is on the Zuiko. Most of the details were shot using either the Nikon or Voigtlander. All the interview and guitar playing were on the Voigtlander. The one shot that I can say was on the Zuiko was
the tracking shot while he works on the viola.

Thank you.

Actually this is just a quick portrait to promote the luthier so this the intended final product in length, etc.

Really nice. It has really consistent tone over all. You've captured a look I feel is a strong suit for this camera which is very rich. I have that Nikon 85 1.4 it's my favorite lens so far. I've preorderd the Voigtlander 25mm and will have it by the end of the month so it's a treat to see them both put to such good use. What were your gamma and matrix for this one?

I believe I used the profile suggested by DVX member Editman who had a few different options. I believe he has his own site as well, but it was his "clean" profile which I've found to be pretty solid for my needs.

Right. Editman's clean. That's a good one. CineV, Norm1 - 4 on detail and -2 coring if my notes are right. ;)

Beautiful. I would have loved to end on a shot of him playing the guitar, or just on him.

Nice footage, but I noticed obvious gaps in narration. It seems that you had more footage and soundtrack than interview and wanted to stretch by inserting numerous pauses in post. Hope my light critique helps.

I disagree. I think its great that the narration has a more relaxed feel, and is allowed to "breath" between. Especially with this subject matter - what the man does is all about the sound of that guitar that he builds. So the sound of the guitar should be a large part of the content. This is what will speak volumes to his clients - guitarists.

Nice job.

I also woud have liked to see it end on him playing guitar and then saying his name direct to camera.

How did you mic the guitar piece?

Guitarist brought his own mic- a Beyer that looked much like a Schoeps. Though I was a bit disappointed by the audio quality going direct to camera- I'd expected it to sound a bit cleaner like the HPX170 but I have resolved to use a mixer going line level in from here on out.

I can appreciate a more relaxed feel, it's just the interview track was chopped, and pauses inserted in post as opposed to scripted. Therefore, it sounds as though the narrator is about to contnue, but gets paused unnaturally, then resumes. This is what I referred to. Sorry if this wasn't clear. I would rerecord the narrator; this time with scripted natural breaks or additional monologue. Or augmented narration with another talent.

Absolutely beautiful! The gentleman is a true master. What beautiful instruments he creates. That is an amazing talent. I see a Bustelo coffe can with work stuff on his bench! I think that is so cool! Thank you for sharing this piece.
