Guilty pleasures/Confessions...

In light of the FIFA CAMERA WORLD CUP... I have been writing a movie. Also I am visiting where I grew up family etc. We have some damn good internet here as opposed to the 28-56 K in Lebanon. So I take full advantage and watch movies. I saw T2 again. Loved it. Still think it's awesome. It's the reason I got a dirt bike when I was way young and the reason I used to quiz my mother all the time on our pet names just to be sure :)

Still, guilty pleasure, I can't ever say this face to face cause it may ruin my career in film (which is still awkwardly beginning)

I saw a movie I used to LOVE when I was 9. I saw it again. Dammit I love it. It's bad bad bad. But I friggin LOVE IT. I have to tell someone. None of you know what I look like. So I guess I can do that :) Besides I really want to. I'm playing the score on repeat and dammit writing is going so friggin well.

It's crazy how you watch something you haven't seen in years and years and realize where the heck you get half your ideas.

So my guilty pleasure is....

(I'm so gonna get banned)

... Blood Sport (1988).

I know. But it's friggin awesome.

Does anyone wanna play this cafe dvx game? What are movies you love that you would never admit you love?

I love blood sport. Gonna watch kick boxer again. But Blood Sport has always been my favorite. I think I really like old van damme movies. I can't believe I'm typing this.

Anyone? Guilty pleasures?

Blood Sport isn't a guilty pleasure! That movie is awesome! That's like saying The Goonies is a guilty pleasure. No way! It's an awesome movie!

Guilty pleasure: 13 Going on 30.

YOU JUST MADE MY DAY BRO!!!!!!!!!!!

"You don't look like a Tanaka..." "Shidoshi Tanaka trained me." "Then show us, Dim Mak..."

I wanna remake that thing shot for shot. Just to watch it and do it. Shot for freakin shot. Just. For. Fun.

Yeah Bloodsport was a big movie back in the day. Still one of Van Damme's best. It's never been bad, it's just become very, very dated.

Aren't they remaking it now?

No!!!!! THATS MY GIG. really? Ima check. I'm so happy so many ppl like it. I live with artists back in beirut. Nothing pleases these guys.

My goodness. You're right. Phillip Noyce? What'd he do? I'm on the net finding as much as I can.

Someone rename the thread Awesome Fight Flicks.

In the updated version, Dux (presumably) gets a modern backstory as “an American who goes to Brazil to recover from the violence he has experienced in Afghanistan [and] gets involved in a martial arts contest.” aw come on. Afghanistan? I'm tired of the 'traumatized soldier'.

Goonies is a classic btw. Always loved it. It's my old school Empire records. The coolest movie on the block. Goonies, yeah if you saw that you were cool.

Yeah, The Goonies is one of the movies that I've seen enough times that I can quote from start to finish. When it comes on TNT or TBS, I sit down and watch it until the end, no matter how recently I'd just seen it.

Ok. It's 90's movies week. I saw T2 again 3 times in a row. My goodness. That one's not a guilty pleasure at all, I'm really missing these flicks. Effects crazy, way slick, but there's a movie in there. Lil Eddie Furlong kicks ass. They don't make tough guys like they used to. I saw the new star trek last year and right afterwards I saw the expendables and I just couldn't bring myself to watch anything for a month that had a young pretty tough guy in it.

Just saw my horrible bosses or something it was funny, but reminded me of Swimming With Sharks. Grabbing that this evening.

My brain is overwhelmed. I need to remember these flicks and watch em again. U-Turn's next. Usual suspects has been playing on my laptop too.

Any 90's bad ass classics? Suggestions? I'm on a 8-day vacation at home with the family. I feel like I'm 12. This is the best time to watch these things.

I'ma shoot my brains off when I get back to beirut...

The most obvious ones are Commando, Predator, First Blood, Total Recall, Double Impact, Die Hard, Lethal Weapon, The Running Man, The Terminator, T2, Conan the Barbarian, Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior, Escape from New York, Kickboxer, Demolition Man, Big Trouble in Little China.

Once you get through those, there's Universal Soldier, American Ninja 1, Tango & Cash, Over The Top, Cobra, Harley Davidson and the Marlboro Man, Tequila Sunrise, Rambo 2, Rambo 3, Die Hard 2 and 3, Lethal Weapon 2-4 etc.

I couldn't recommend any of the Steven Seagal movies. I've never liked them.

Tango and Cash... completely forgot about that one loved it :) Was Demolition man the one where stallone goes to the future and can't tell what to do with the seashells? Man you're taking me back. I'm so scatterbrained. This is fantastic.... Just got through swimming with Sharks. Taking a Family Guy break and hitting some more tomorrow.

"He's the American **** head who makes cheeks with breeks!"

or

"Ooookay USA!"

or

"brick don't hit back!"
"Frank dukes..like you put up your dukes right?"

-some just off the top of my head. Blood Sport is actually a pretty good film. Not a guilty pleasure.

ok, since were revealing movies we would never admit we liked or even loved. I'm gonna let the cat out of the bag. I still like the 80's film "my bodyguard". I also liked "valley girl". Ok, you will never hear me admit it again. lol
