I guess I'm one of the few who got lucky with Crutchfields magical GH1 stock last week...I will have mine tomorrow. I was just wondering: What size SD or SDHC card comes out of the box with the camera, if any? on that note......What else comes out of the box as well? Panasonics site is not very informative about that.

thnaks for any replies.

I recommend swinging by Cost-Co if you have on in your area...got 2 x 4gb Sandisk Ultra II (class 4 but works fine) SDHC for $30 or so. You can also get 4 x 2gb! Cheapest place other than web (but no shipping/waiting!)

I purchased a 16GB SD card from Amazon for $40. It's the Transcend brand and there have been a couple reports of problems, but I would take it with a grain of salt. I've had mine for a year, and it's been flawless, and I just purchased another. As with any 'media' just make sure you backup your photos/videos.

If you have one in your location just go to Fry's.

Patriot SDHC 16gb Class 6 $32.99

Always worked without a hiccup on my HF10. So far it's been solid for 1 year.

Just picked up another for my GH-1 and, as expected, so far so good.

Stay away from Kensington. I've had major issues with that brand. Twice I've had corrupted files from Kensington 4gb Class 6 and that's me properly formatting after every use. My classmates had the same issues. Maybe we had a bad batch, but it ain't worth the risk.

Transcend

Transcend

We have sold close to 750 Transcend 16 & 32 GB Class 6 SDHC cards and have had 3 returned to us due to failure.

Using a transcend 16GB currently. No problems. Recorded for 1.5 hrs straight the other day without dropped frames, glitches, anything.
