Guerilla35 Commercial...

Looks awesome Jonathan. Any idea which camera was attached to the adaptor?

I need to get one of those. :)

Hello. Thanks Jonthan for uploading the file.

A friend of mine called me yesterday and asked me if we could do a very quick commercial of his company that same afternoon. And we finished this morning. Quite a challenge.

We did have very very low budget and even the actors are not real actors.

And what better chance to prove the new guerilla35 adapter?

Again, low light was a problem. Even with professional lights. You can see some grain in the wider shots (sigma 35mm at f4 attached to a Sony HDV means no light). The primary focus was a nikon 50mm f1.4. Great DOF effect.

Of course this is not a problem when shooting outside.

I am very pleased with the result. Watching on TV you cannot say it is not true 35mm. THe light seeting was great, and the low DOF made the rest.

Has anyone seen a picture of what ths adapter actually looks like? Just intrested.
The commercial looked great and was well done considering your time frame, cheers.

I wish I did. They temporarily had pics of the product posted.. I've got em on my computer, but I don't think they'd want me to post them... since they're waiting for patents to go through.

We appreciate that. They are 5" black tubes :) Nothing that special.

I will be updating our website with some 3D renderings of our production version. Those will be the ones that will be interesting to look at. We still need to get a few ducks in a row first. I can tell you that the adapter will be ~4.5" long and weigh under 1lb. You will not need rails. But we will provide for a mounting system that will allow for rails. That's all we can really share as of now. Thanks!

yeah that looked great, wish i had money

there's about 4$ left in my bank account, how far do you think i'll get with that.

:(

The great thing about this post, especially for the adapter manufacturers, is that this commercial would not be possible to sell without them. It's well directed and well lit, obviously, I'm not ditching the talent it took for its creation, but, a bare 1/3" cam shooting people talking in front of a white wall, would result in a much dumber image. The shallow DOF hid some of the DV lack of quality, and a lot of the lack of money and time for production design, giving depth to an image that would be pretty much flat otherwise. Good job, on the piece, and damn I really want one, but then there are lenses, and then there are acessories, follow focuses, boy, I'm going to end up spending some cash...

Is that FX or Z1? If it is Z1, did you use cinema settings and is it 60i? Nice looking spot.
