Grrrrr...Overuse of Soundtrack Files

[Jim Brennan]

I use Soundtrack loops for small projects, especially when the budget is low or the audience is limited. I like them, and there is a pretty good variety of moods.

But for crying out loud, I just saw a commercial for a NATIONAL BRAND OF HAIR COLORING for men that was using a Soundtrack file...and not even all that well.

Talk about lazy.

You know when you first get garageband? everyone makes that same first loop, starts with violins, then goes into a beat, then into the electronica violin beat thing... then loops back

I can't remember how many times I've heard the same thing on the commercials around here

I keep hearing crap from Juicer on the Discovery Channel, commercials, etc.
It's extremely annoying.

And when I first got Garageband, I made the Mortal Kombat song

[Hawk Teflon]

Yeah, I hear a lot of Juicer and American Music Co. But I doubt many people recognize those.

Jeez guys... get specific so I can enjoy this.

I hear bits also... One southpark episode (the one where Stan gets exiled for not voting) uses a bit from one of my favorite M-Audio discs... right when they send him out of town on the horse...

So where's the Juicer in Discovery?

CSI loves the Hollywood Edge Sound Designers Toolkit.
