Group Buy for HVX?

Can we get a dvxuser group buy on this camera? I guess Jarrod or someone would have to decide where and or who we buy from, but he could sure work that for a few favors....And with say 25 or more cams we might be able to get the "Abelcine" discount...

You never know.
 
Rush at EVS already has a special list for DVXusers, with a dvxuser discount, but im sure Jarrod at able cine would have no problem getting something together for us as well.

Yo, headlesspup, who you buy from does the shipping and handling. The idea is to get as many people to buy to drive the price down. High volume = deep discount. It's all about economics hombre..
 
please include me in the group too, thanks in advance. I got 4500$ so far and 2 more years to get the camera :cry:

don't forget the attachments etc. can we do this as group too? I always wanted a nice lens hood from Canada.
 
the whole group thing already happens because your a member of the site.. I set that up along time ago with EVS, so we all get group pricing because we are a group... so we already get a special price.
 
Jarred, can you fix the PAL version there?


And khina. If you cant afford the cam, so just wait. The good thing is that the P2 cards will get better and cheaper as time goes by.

let's pray p2 gets cheaper. also i'm still confused Jarred, r u saying we get group discount on just the cam? what bout p2 cards etc? ......but then...i have this idea.....i'll post a new post about it.

We get a DVXuser price on everything at EVS, at least in my experience.
 
so when will this group buy be taken place? i can't wait to have the cam in my sleep on my next project trip. :)

how could people miss this. I feel like on every other thread someone points out the dvxuser discount that we get from Rush at EVS.

You call them and say "I am a member of DVXuser.com here is my order." It's a standing discount on pretty much everything they sell, and its been around since the Reagan administration.
 
That's not the idea behind group buy (although it is mighty nice).

Group buy works like this. The number of people in the group buy drives the price down. The more in, the deeper the discount. Lets say it was setup like this:

Start price $9800
50 people - $9500
250 people - $9200
500 people - $8999
1000 people - $8700

or something of that nature. The group buy is setup on a time limit. There is only so much time to buy into the group so the worst case scenario would be $9800 and the best price would be $8700. Once the group buy is closed then the price is set by the number of people who bought in.
 
Hi Stephen, that would work if there was a 1000+ unit price on the camera. However, Panasonic's lowest price is obtained by ordering 100+ units. Based on all the pre-orders, we ordered the maximum number of cameras. That way, we can give the lowest DVXuser discount possible, but that's about all we can do.:)

Generally, the DVXuser discount applies to everything we sell, and it is a blanket 15% off rentals. P2 cards are also discounted and price-matched. You can email me at rush@evsonline.com if you want the full list of HVX200 camera and package prices. :)

It's a little beyond our means for the DVXUser fest, but if you win the 48 Hour Film Festival, yes the top prize is an HVX200!

I know man.

Timing around getting my camera / getting up and running just missed all the 48hr cities which are over now :(

Sure there's no way Panny would donate an HVX as a prize? It would generate a lot of great footage for the comprtition that would go a long way to going on a demo DVD that Panny could say "look all of this great footage was made by folks with various levels of experience and backgrounds, but all with one commonality ... our rockin' camera." Not to mention buzz on the forum that does spill over to the crews we put together and the various audiences that see our work.

Oh well ... a fella can still dream ....

What a about a DVX100b as a prize? Especially if it has native 16:9!

Good input.

Has the price been established (on a camera thats in developement)? I know the retail price has been established but the street price?
