a new podcast series focusing on helping people understand the jobs on bigger movie sets. The Grip/Electric Departments get examined in this episode. This video is more for the Newbs to filmmaking.

Featuring the lovely and beautiful Brandy Seymour as our host. No reason to see another bearded fat guy when you can see a hot chick instead.

The BEHIND THE SCENES clips were shot with my handy HV20 in 24P mode and the Sony Z1, plus see the RED ONE in action.

BEHIND THE SCENES camera work by Sean McHenry and Brandy Seymour, and interviews shot by Scott Spears.

I've been gripping for several years and I have yet to see a grip work with a DP. Usually the gaffer works with the DP and the Key grip takes his orders from the Gaffer and the regular grips take their orders from both the Gaffer and Key grip.

I guess if your gutsy enough you, as a grip, can try to bypass the gaffer and ask the DP what he wants, but it will probably be your last time working with that DP.

But the responsibilities part was spot on. Nice work.

The key Grip works with the gaffer and DP.... that's how the line should have read. They don't bypass the gaffer to work with the DP, but they are on a team WITH the DP to do that.

Thanks guys.
