GREYSCALE - feature film - OFFICIAL THREAD

Is Quinn a friend of yours? LOL. The stuff is really awesome looking. There's film called "Brick" that might interest you. It's a neo-noir about a teenager trying to find out what happened to his ex-girlfriend. Very well done.

Yeah, Tony and I have become friends over the course of the two projects we've worked on together. He's a really cool guy... totally laid back

Looking forward to seeing caps of Doug Jones form the next few days' shoot - I run his official website and a LOT of fans are asking me about Greyscale! Ryan, I hope you can see your way to allowing me to post a cap on his site? I already have a link to the official GREYSCALE site, and it is much anticipated as it is a chance to see Dougie strut his stuff without being under a pile of prosthetic makeup.

Really looking forward to hearing how it goes with Doug over the next couple days! Ryan has a ton to get done, but I know he'll pull it off! This is it! :)

@Nathyn: Love Brick. It's probably one of the influences of Greyscale along with Memento. Then again, I also love Cowboy Bebop, which was a main influence on Brick. :)

@Hellmistress: Most definitely will. I'm very excited to be working with Doug and I hope he'll have a fun time with the role I wrote for him. I actually wrote in two new scenes for him after he signed on so I could expand the role a little.

Brick was wild. I never went for that type of style. Learned about it in film school but I didn't really feel it. But to see it done in modern day was pretty nice. I got into it and it made me even consider some black in white in the future. Sin City also made me look at black and white differently. I'd seen some of the books but never read it, but my friend kept talking about "Sin City" and how good it was. I knew Frank Miller was a good writer anyway (minus his take on the futuristic Superman, don't like that too well).

Most excellent! Thanks, and once again I look forward to seeing the film. This is a medium not explored anywhere near enough in modern cinema, despite the fact that there is often a rich definition and clarity to B & W film that for some reason is not seen in most mainstream colour projects.

Has he sorted out nicknames for everyone yet? That kinda goes with knowing Dougie - you acquire a nickname.

HM

Yes, mine is Joey Knuckles.

Ryan has a choice for either Crime Boss Conway, or Tiny Banks.

Dougie spoke about the origination of the nicknames in the 49 minute interview we had with him.

Here are a few Frame Grabs from the EPK.

Shortly before shooting time, it began sleeting heavily. The wind chill was something like 4 Degrees Fahrenheit.

Our Director/Writer/Lead Actor, Ryan Dunlap had nothing under his short sleeve shirt, making it deathly cold for himself.

May I have permission to put one or two of these on Dougie the Hammer's official website, with links, copyright etc? The fans would love 'em.

HAHA "Dougie the Hammer". I guess you heard. :D

Ryan said he will try to send you some screengrabs from the actual shoot, along with these later today.

Sorry, things have been crazy with Doug coming in and us wrapping principle photography (we still have a few pickups we're scheduling for January due to scheduling conflicts).

Thought I'd share some of the best screengrabs from our time with Doug... who, by the way, is one of the nicest people in the business and is one of my new favorite people. I feel kind of bad for casting him in one of the most sinister roles in the flick... but he did an amazing job!

-Ryan

P.S. More chapters to come soon after I detox for the holidays a little...
