grey market

Where exactly do "grey market" items come from?

I've heard the term, and understand what it means, but am not sure how they come to be.

Are they packaged the same way as a real product is or would you buy it and it would not be in a Panasonic box?

Just curious.

from what I understand, its a real Panasonic product, just not meant for sale in the US. Re-sellers can get them cheaper and sell for the same- thereby making more money.

Its not a legit US bound product worthy of warranty work and rebates/goodies, and its not a fake knock-off (black market), kind of in the middle- gray.

Thats what I think it is anyway.

thats what i have always thought it is too. Also when you try to go through the grey market websites its really hard to get them to just sale you the cam. alot of times they want to sell you alot of extras to help bring up the price so they make more money. I originally was gonna try to get my grey market but it seems like to much work. haha From what i have read they wont steal your money but they will make you wait a long time to get your stuff and they always hassle you to buy more. hahah.
