Grey Market Panasonic question

I have a buddy in Virginia who recently bought a HMC-155 from an etailer.

He emailed Panasonic customer support earlier today and they would not help him since it is a non-USA model.

Does anyone else have any HMC-155 information or grey market expeience and words of wisdom?

It would appear, there may be no warranty on something in this situation. Does Panasonic ever help out in this type of situation?


Let me add for those price shopping, those ads that say "HMC-150/155" (some on Ebay), are grey market, it's either a 150 or a 155 not a 150/155. Looks like this may be trouble.
 
eek, this reminds me of the time we ordered a Sony FX1000 for $1200 (normally $3000)... Then we got scammed on it only being the body - we had to buy the lens, warrenty, batt, etc etc etc.

We were lucky after arguing, they canceled the order.

Is it exactly like the 150? Shoot NTSC?
 
If you have the opportunity - return it? And get one from an authorized dealer... unless you saved money, then you have to weigh the risk of repair costs possibly in the future.
