green screen sample

Thanks guys. We did some really funny stuff. It's actually all a part of the alien abduction concept to the show.. and he happens to get abducted while he's on the can... a bit of toilet humor...

i clicked on it and as soon as i saw the guy on the toilet i shut it off since i'm eating breakfast, lol. i'll have to check on my next slack hour here at work. :Drogar-Evil(DBG):

It is a tad indelicate... lol. Sorry if it upset your stomach. Let me know what ya think when you get some time to check it out later...

haha..it was cool. i thought it was going to be a some kind of skit with farting noises and other disgusting stuff. the green screen edit was nice though.

Thanks filmboy... did you decide on the HVX and all that? I think you were going to buy one right?

yea man i got it about a month ago. right now i'm working on a short film that i plan on posting here when i get my first scene done. we just had the first rehearsal saturday and i'm gunning for the first shoot in a coupla weeks.

hey Justyn, what kind of mic did you use for this clip? i forgot to ask.

I love the Audio Technica 815ST mike. Its a stereo MS mike and currently I've only been recording mono doubled with the HVX.. but on the next piece I'll be recording M/S. It's a fabulous price for the money! I picked one up used for 400. The best thing is that it records a fabulous true stereo recording for live events and we field tested it against a sennheiser 417 shotgun mike thats like 1400 and up to 4 feet away pretty much the same.. from longer distances the 417 is superior because of the pickup pattern.. but shoot this mike records stero and the 417 won't

Well sorry for being long winded... but this mike is so nicely paired with the HVX. There's also a longer more narrow shotgun available...

love the scat 1080 footage I guess. Shot this in the living room under less than ideal conditions

What a "crack" up.

I've never shot using a greenscreen. How difficult was it to shoot that setup?

Thanks for posting.
Pete.

yea justyn, are you using FCP for your video editing? if so, is there an online tutorial on how to use a green screen in conjunction with FCP?

very easy...

Yes. I'm on FCP. I haven't seen a tutorial but I'm sure there is. It's pretty easy to light.. but it takes a little bit of time to adjust the perameters...

I can't stop laughing!!!! It's a very pointed statement about the HD craziness going on, as well as just freakin' aye funny!!!! I'll never be able to poo again without laughing... or wondering how sucked into the corporate rat race I really am...

Oh, the APTS book, Advanced Color Correction and Effects in Final Cut Pro 5 has a very excelent chapter on keying out green screens, how to light them, etc. If you do chroma key in FCP, it's a must read.

Thanks for the info Ben... and for the support! We did a bunch of this green screen stuff that day and for my screening. I'll put up a bunch of new videos on Monday after the "world premiere".. if you can say that...

I do need to brush up on my green screen skills too. I usually am forced to half ass it and pull a key off a not so great set-up... My only really big advice is to not try and greenscreen in a small room... You need distance from your subject so that no green spill can be detected on them.. or in their hair. That's when it's a pain to try and key out. I think that having about 6 feet of seperation is best... Unfortunately sometimes space is a limiter...

Like, check this one out.. The quality of the compression is bad and I did it for a client on dial-up... yes I know, people still have them... It's also for the show...

Hope you like it:

yes... a bit squished and all that... Next week, I'll put it up as a quicktime along with the others.

BTW, liked your 2.0 converter review Ben... I'm hoping to get one soon... THANKS ALL!
