hi! I need help..I want to to do some green screen work and would like to make it look decent. I just bought two 100,000 watt Halogen work lights from Home Depot to light the background..I also have a muslim greeen screen along with the frame..what other type of lights to I need withought spending a ridiculous amount of money? Thanks!!!!

I'm assuming the lights are 1000 watts and not 100,000 watts as you would be pretty hard pressed to find power for those! ;p

The worklights might be better suited for lighting your talent as the are pretty hard sources of light, and what you need for the greenscreen is soft even illumination.

What I would suggest is getting some fluorescent banks (do a search for "diy fluorescent" or similar on this forum for help on constructing one) and setting those up on either side of your screen maybe several feet away at a 45 degree angle.

Get your talent seperated from the screen as far as possible (ideal is 8+ feet) and light them with the worklights, one for a key and one bounced off of a piece of foamcore or thru some type of diffusion (frosted shower curtain, rip stop nylon, etc. Make sure to keep several feet away though to avoid a possible fire!) for a fill. Then get one of those silver clamp lights and put a 200 watt or so bulb in it and use it as your back light.

Definately invest in some black wrap! It is your best friend when working with diy fixtures (especially worklights)!

-Clamp lights
-Worklights
-Fluorescents

Not the same as pro lights, but with practice you can use them to achieve some very good results.

Hope that helps some.
