Green Lantern

Came on to post this. Geez you're fast.

Yeah seems kinda generic. Though I dunno, seems like a film I'd watch, unless they say it's absolutely horrible. Something about the aliens and protector of everything that has me curious.

I thought Automan's costume looked better.

I'll watch this if I ever have time to go to the theaters and there's nothing better on.

Automan! That's hilarious!

I do like Ryan Reynolds but I think I will be skipping this one. It looks like the fantastic four to me for some reason and both of those were Horrible IMHO.

I wasn't impressed with the trailer either.

Ryan Reynolds is totally wrong for the part of Hal Jordan anyway.

IMO he would have been a perfect Barry Allen/Flash.

What bums me out is that the comic shamelessly ripped off The Lensman books, which is a movie I'd REALLY like to see.

Count me in this camp as well. I'd much rather see science fiction than superhero, except in rare cases like Batman or Iron Man.

Another one of my favorite characters potentially ruined, ah well...... leave origin stories alone people, and the ring how could you change the ring and the battery.... seems like I am in the minority here but I love comics mostly the DC universe which has been crapped on by every movie made within it.

These superhero movies tend to go either in a campy direction or dark, and the dark renditions tend to work better. This looks pretty camp and awful.

Wasn't Joe Straczynski working on a Lensman script at some point?

Does "pretty much everyone" know the origin of Green Lantern? I sure don't. I was never a big DC guy, admittedly, but I personally wouldn't think that a lot of people know this; certainly not to the extent of Superman or Batman.

Not really excited by superhero adaptations anymore. Looking forward to the Dark Knight Rises and that's it.

Maybe I should have higher expectations, but I thought this looked pretty good. I mean, it's a trailer as easily as good as the first Iron Man trailer. I like the take on Hal Jordan, it's not terribly accurate to silver age Green Lantern. The character seems more similar to the reboot Green Lantern after Emerald Twilight (I'm forgetting his name).

Entertaining popcorn flick.
