gray card for post c. correction

hi,
Is important to include one of those gray cards (the ones with with the midtones and colours) in your footage to help colour correction in post? Are these recommended or is worth remembering if your not slating? thanks

Yeah those and Gretags are expensive for a decent size, and then they say you got to buy them often, as they fade out or some-such (might be a myth) :-).

No myth... but, if you use it sparingly, and keep it in a cool, reasonably dry, dark place, you probably don't need to buy one but ever 15 or 20 years...

The other element is calibrating your monitor... oh, oops, don't do that...

The only color calibrated setups I've seen are for the print world, but I presume for a pro colorist for film, the idea is the same. Have one 'golden' setup, calibrated, appropriate ambient light, calibrated monitor, etc.

Otherwise for splicing and dicing of the film, ordinary 'guestimated', perhaps somewhat calibated, is good enough to get the cutting done...
