Grainy output, HELP!

I've had my dvx for a year or so and just added a Redrock 35 mm adapter. My question is what can i do to match the quality picture that I see on my camera to the output from FCP? The output is so grainy. Is there a specific export to quicktime setting I'm missing. I did a test last night and use a lot of light and the pic came out well lit but still grainy once it got captured. I've seen DVX footage that looked great but I'm missing something. I also read I need to film in 24A to edit in 24 in FCP. Sorry but I'm a creative novice trying to understand the craft.

could it be possible that the monitor resolution is too high? if so.. try watching the footage on your regular TV... I had this issue and it looked fine on TV

i dont use final cut,but the compression therey is soem what like this 1/5 of what you see gets captured on tape, then 1/5 of that gets captured by your nle .
so 1/5 of 1/5 leaves you soem like 1/10 or so......hard to understand?
try uncompressed workflows to get the picture as you see it kinda thing,

the other therey is that you cant just shoot and get what you see ,video has amind of its own
and it gets confused by heavy details in backgrounds,if you use that shorten depth of field arent you smoothing out backgrounds?,
i dont have a redrock or additional depth of field kits...but 1/5 of 1/5 is what you pay for with software, untill you start a hardware kit add on,like a red rock for your computer, kona or soem capture thing to get those details more sample space...? i dont even use a mac so..cafe mind !
good luck
i get grains too
