Graeme - question on DVCProHD and G Nicer

Hey Graeme,

I use your G Nicer chroma upsampler on my DV footage in an uncompressed timeline before doing any color correction and compress to DVD and it does make the DVD look cleaner.

My question is do you have any plans on working on an updated version that'll work on DVCProHD footage and attempt to bring it up to 4:4:4? I'd be interested in that ...

gnicer will work on 4:2:2 footage bringing it up to 4:4:4. He has an example of this on his gnicer page. :)

Actually, I'm no longer sure that the image was the 4:2:2 reconstructed to 4:4:4... it's hard to tell from the image description.... Graeme?

Interesting ... I just looked at the pics ...

Is it me or does the first chroma example (the original uncompressed 4:2:2 footage from HDCAM) actually look worse when the G Nicer filter is applied (the last picture example)?

Look particulary at the edges of the bone ... the one with the filter added on seems as if it has been through some form of compression like DV when compared to the original ...

Is this a mistake?

Yeah I saw that too. Hence the reason I can't decide what the last picture is supposed to be =D
