Grabs...take a look

Its all been said, I think the look would benefit more with a dirtier gritty look(loose the MB, or tone it down). It just looks too clean and pretty for my taste. It looks like you had some good lighting and your exsposed well. It all boils down to if your happy with the look. If your happy, than don't let anyone change your mind on your vision!

Its been awhile since I've posted in this thread and people keep replying so i think i should post this. This is a more refined(but still not final) version of the image. I really like the way it came out but what do all of you think?

it is better than the first ones you posted... and it is a nice look... though is it for the whole thing?

nope not for the whole thing. If you take a look back in the forums there are some other screen grabs posted by me which are also from the same movie....they have a totally different feel to them and most of them have been upgraded as well haha

It looks very similar (although not as extreme) as the original images you posted; which tells us you're not even listening to the advice you are seeking. These images are so 'manipulated' it doesn't even look like a DVX.

My .02 :/

Well it is very "similar" becuase its a revision not a total redo...The reason I kept it similar is because that look fits the style of the scene. AND I did listen to you becuase the moment that you guys said that it was too soft I thought to myself "yea, thats what it is" so I sharpened it up a bit. I think in motion it looks even better than as a still although some may think its a little grainy I really like the look. I really do appreciate the advice but I can't exactly follow everyones advice because then I'd be constantly changing the thing and I could never get something that totally satisfies everyone. I'm definately not trying to be rude, because I really like the advice and comments but I don't have to do what everyone says. And at the end of the day its my project and I'll do what I want to with it...and sometimes that means sticking to what I like.

*claps* I always love when a filmmaker feels strongly about their piece... means that they are more into making what they see not what everyone tells them may sell... I respect that, Nobody.

Lighten up Francis.

Let's not go into meltdown alright?

First of all; always do what you wan't. I completely support the notion of sticking to your artistic vision because you don't have to worry about satisfying anyone but yourself.

Secondly; is what I said that upsetting to you? Did it really require a tirade? I said it still looks very close to the original which implied that you changing it 'a bit' didn't really do too much in my eyes. Just my .02 dude.

And Trent? You're clapping? What the hell is going on around here. You know; people say I've been grouchy lately. I wonder why.

I still gotta ask you; is this really the DVX100?

Sorry if I got you mad...didnt mean to tirade or anythin....just kinda the way i talk on message boards. Mind to paper(or computer screen or w/e) without much structure. I should probably try to fix that so people dont think poorly of me. I did say I wasnt trying to offend you or anythin...sorry again. I really do appreciate the comments and critiques

The whole Nic-addiction thing maybe? The countdown to NC maybe?

Sigh..

Maybe I'm just becoming a grouchy old man. Damn it. You guys just let me know when I'm being grouchy.

(Can't I just have one chew of Coppenhagen?) :undecided

You trying to knock the stuff too? I got where when I was editing I had to have a big ole dip of skoal. Bad habit, and hard as hell to quit. I agree that the look did not change much at all. Like I said in my previous post if that is what you like than cool.
