Hey guys, just shot a short film which i lit exclusively with 2, 500 watt halogen worklights. Check out these grabs and do comment (all grabs not color corrected). I need some help, however on how to cc these to look like they're all in the dark - The shots inside are supposed to take place during a blackout. Any ideas would be appreciated!

This is a scene from my film after a storm knocks out the power.. Hard to illuminate because it's supposed to be coming from an emergency light. Work with it, it'll come..

You have to make them a lot darker, obviously. If the shots don't move around that much, you can also try 'painting' some shadows onto the image. Like, for instance, make a gradient or some blurry black shapes in photoshop and then composite them onto the image with multiplication mode. That will give the effect of a more shadowy room. Something like that combined with some general darkening and coloring should give you something close to the effect you want. It's after a blackout so the light remaining in the room should be a little frightening. Sound correct?

It's always better to try and hit that type of lighting from the beginning, though!

Don't be afraid to make people's faces too dark to see, if you have good sound it will carry the scene.
