looks like a lot of grain for such a high priced adaptor. is that the compression? is that adaptor really 6300 euro?

That can't all be compression grain.

Funny, I think the glass for my Go35 Standard will look as good/better.

hmmmmm too much grain for me. Did you set up the DVX vefore shooting?

maybe he had the gain on high but i doubt it. that's the only thing i can think of in camera that would make it that grainy....

but even looking at the movietube website and their test footage, i think there are a number of adapters made by forum members that smoke this one. not to mention the price. i did a euro to dollar conversion based on todays exchange rates and for the price of 1 movietube, you can buy 43 Go35's. hmmmmm....... yup, no brainer.

my guess is the grain comes from a crappy ground glass and the bad focus comes from the prism/mirror system they used... I bet it's a light hog too.

That sounds right...in fact, that sounds like basically every one of the 300 million 35 mm adapters in existence. But if you buy smart, you can reduce those problems, at least.

its funny that it became such a growing home business.

I still think the G35, SG35, M2 and Letus are among the best. everythign else seems kinda crap.

Actually, if you go to movietube's website and download the first 3 videos on their showroom section, they are much higher quality (and not grainy) and crisp not like these grabs you see on this thread. I'm surprised because they look pretty good! Better than M2 in my opinion...take alook and you will see.

could be postpro issue, maybe lowlight too..
the stuff on the movietube page looks nevertheless perfect imo...
way to pricey though...

OT: do you guys also get "server busy try later" alerts when visiting dvxuser the last two days...?

There's definitely 2 separate groups of people who want these. There's those who think $4k is a fine amount to pay and then there's the other 90% of us :)

I'm looking at one of these adapters and for me it will probably be the redrock M3, but maybe the Letus (Having flip would be awesome)

I bet that grain comes from not enough light and its just like shooting at a club low light situation.
just for sh!tz and giggles i would like to see 35 adapter footage with gain on low.

Those costs are way out of line. They used (a rather lossy IMO) schmidt prism to boot.

Having said that, judging an adapter by one grab is a sketchy business......
