For dinner:

1" thick pork chop (perfectly grilled)
Yellowtail tuna, barbequed
Manicotti (uhh, death on my plate, in a good way)
Saffron Rice
Green salad with balsamic vinigrette
Artichoke hearts

Always look forward to Fridays. Mmm-Mmm-Mmm-Mmmmmmmmmm

Indie productions: Crews work on their stomachs. Pizza don't cut it. OK, I am spoiled. Sue me.

Sh!t our last feature we ate so good I lost weight. All home cooked 3 course meals, breakfast, lunch and dinner. Steak, Muscles, Shrimp scampi, a ton of veggies. They were definitely the best in feeding us so far. I don't think we will ever get that again...or at least until we shoot the 30 pages more we still need to shoot in June on the same production

Reminds me of a story that a friend of mine told me.

He was an extra in a few scenes of The Dark Knight. And right around lunch time, someone brought out a big pot of hotdogs floating in water (boiled). People were kind of bummed out because they looked gross. After a while, one lady decides that this must be lunch. So she loads up like 3 hotdogs and regretfully eats them. Everyone else isn't down for boiled hot dogs...As soon as she finishes, they bring out the real lunch. It turns out the hotdogs were a snack to hold everyone over for the real meal: Steaks, potatoes, fish, fresh fruit, anything you could ever want. She was too full from the hotdogs to eat any of the good food. Bummer...

In the only big production I've work food wasn't the best one, but at least it was an all you can eat, with healthy (kinda) food.... the best meal was one of the days that we were on location... nice restaurant... Anyway, I think that lunch time is essential to a good working atmosphere.

Actual craft service. Sigh...

My current show I am ADing, we have pizza, PB&J, and not enough of either to feed the entire crew. It's the worst indie food I've ever had. Your story makes me sad.

Sorry, Matty.

This is my first real gig on an actual TV show (production side, and sometimes cast side when they need me). I do one day a week as an Exec. Assistant to the Technical/Medical Advisor on the show. And I usually work out of her office on the lot. And when she needs an extra body w/ real medical training, I go to wardrobe. Got to show someone on the cast how to hold a particular surgical instrument, and "help" wrangle the extras in certain scenes. ZPlus, when I am on set, I help set up the OR with the instruments and blood! I love blood!

I'm confined to eating only fish, meat, nuts, fruit and vegetables.

Caterers and crafty lavishes us with self-serve deli and fresh bagels and junk food and espresso cartage and per-contract feedings and rich desserts following (usually) three meals per shooting day.

Torment.

Oh, Sad Max, the biggie's do so much more! Vegan? Cool, covered. Vegetarian? Covered. A Omniverous individual who will eat any anything, like me? More than covered. I know there are more catagories, but I know they are covered. We have a main dish that is totally non-meat in all aspects. (Sorry, not interested, GIVE ME some MEAT. Cow, Pig, etc.)

At least on our set, as I have seen.
