Gotta love B&H

I ordered an HVX Filmmaking kit off of B&H a couple weeks ago. It was supposed to come with two 8GB P2 cards, the P2store, cables, an HD LCD monitor, mattebox, filters, more batteries, 4 way charger, remote handle, etc. etc., all for a slightly hurtful 12,999 buckaroos. Now I did some homework and found that the kit's accessories, bought individually, would have cost a few thousand more in total. I went through and ordered it in good faith.

Bam. 8GB cards were discontinued and my order was put on hold. Now here's the cool thing... the same kit on B&H for the same price now advertises two 16GB P2 cards. I called B&H, talked it over, and they switched my order to include two 16GB cards without increasing the price I already paid.

I love it when things work out nicely.

Yeah I've been there a few times. I love the little train town with all the different cameras to try out. Thats where I first fell in love with my old Canon XL1s, haha.

I liked 'em. Great price on the cam... but I found P2s elsewhere for much less.

Yeah the P2 stuff is a bit expensive on B&H, which is why I was so happy when they upgraded my two 8GB cards to 16Gbs.

thats customer care! I never bought any from them yet...yet!

A little research here will show that B&H is good on price but often lacking in the customer care department compared to many of the smaller retailers. I'm glad this worked out, really a no brainer. What happens when a problem occurs AFTER you get a product is a true judge of customer service.

Don't mean to kill the love fest. I use B&H when I have to. Every company has there pluses and minuses.

I agree with this completely. They are a great organization until something goes wrong with an order. I was sent a 4x5.65 filter when I ordered a 4x4 and was given a really hard time when trying to return it. In the end, everything worked out I suppose, but it was a headache. They just did not seem like they cared that they made a mistake - I basically had to beg to get them to cover the return shipping for their mistake. I would still buy from them again despite this one and only issue I have had with them.

Yeah I hate to rain on the parade too, but I have had nothing but problems the few times I've had to interact with BH's customer service. Between being hard to get a hold of and generally having no clue what I'm talking about they are lackluster at best. I avoid them as much as possible. Great website though, nice pics to look at before I buy elsewhere.

I've only dealt with the brick-and-mortar store (I live nearby) and they've always been exemplary when I've had a problem, or when I chose to exercise the 7-day unconditional refund policy. I guess the mail order end (which I've been told by insiders is a HUGE enterprise - like 800 employees) is different sometimes.

I too have received the wrong merchandise from B&H, but customer service was prompt with the return and replacement. The bother is that this was not the first time with them, so I still shop around.

I have never seen anyone get hassled for a return in the physical store. They didn't even ask me why I was returning my purchases on either occassion. I can't speak for remote returns...

Never had an issue with B and H... and I know when I need something overnighted or in a rush.. they have come through everytime where other dealers have not.... but again it's part luck and timing with everyone..
