Gotham TV Show

Curious to know, does anyone know what kind of camera and lenses are used for the tv show Gotham? I'm particularly curious about the lens focal length as they doesn't seem to be anamorphic, but they still seem to be really wide without any distortion in some shots. Two photos examples are attached. How are these shots being achieved? Thanks!

Yeah...Gotham LOOKS incredible.

But it's really hard to guess lenses because SO much of the entire show is CGI set extension.
I wouldn't be surprised if not one single setting, scene, or location is without it.
Their HDR city-scapes are gorgeous...if totally obvious.

Also - there are some anamorphics that show virtually none of the typical "anamophic signature" looks. But people often don't because they want all the visible artifacts like the horizontal light flares and all that.

Thanks for the responds guys! And yes, gotham is an incredible looking show, and I can appreciate all the smoke/fog that's used on the show...Lol

I was flipping the channels a few days ago while watching an NFL game and ended up stopping on the Decades channel where they had a "Peter Gunn" marathon. The scene I saw was in the hothouse, with hard lights coming in through all the flowers. In that respect, "Gotham" is a similar old time film noir. Except, they do add a few different ingredients with the wide angle lenses, shot selection, CGI and smoke (and it's obviously in color).

Thanks for that article, it was a great and informative read. It's interesting that they use 17-28mm primes and are 1-2ft away from the actors faces on the close ups and there's no weird distortion. I shoot with a c100 mark ii and the sensor is almost the exact same size of the alexa, but I get distortion with anything wider that 24mm. Maybe it's the way the Canon L lenses are designed.
