got to say goodbye

It was time to trade up to the Hvx200a which I hope to get sometime next month.

I just sold my Dvx100 (which still looks new) with 400 hours for $1400. The original plastic that covers the little DV window is still on it. I did a package deal; I threw in the Pelican Hard Case, Panasonic AG-MC100G Microphone, Maxell DV Cassettes Re-winder, Three Batteries (two were new), and Miscellaneous Cables - Firewire etc... The only thing that is missing on the camera is one cap cover for the Mic.

Should I have gotten more for it?

I noticed there was other Dvx100 that sold for more with less hours but in the same breath they were kind of bang up looking cameras. This Dvx100 has been to New Zealand in 03, 04, 05 for different projects, Arizona and Alaska. It has been up on the New Zealand coastline, rain forest, desert, heavy forest, cliffs, rain storms etc… and it still look new as if it just came out of the box.

Well... sounds like someone got a hell of a deal. You probably could have gotten more out of it (in fact, I'm sure of it), but it's gone now, so there's no point in sweatin it.

I would have kept the batteries, though. You know it's the same battery for the HVX, right?

Eh... so be it. You'll be so ecstatic about the upgrade none of this will matter.

Thanks. I'm sure the new owners will be very happy with it. It will be his first adventure. His young Daugther is becoming a top figure skater and he wants to film her in the best camera format he can (he was looking at the Best Buy Store video cameras and decided that the DVX was a lot better camera than what you would get at best buy) as she win matches so they will have something to look back at. The rate she is going she may make a good name for herself in this field.
