The flare is kept in center of the frame once filming or stills. It should be reflection of iris inside, according the position, shape and size of the flare, and it´s blue, and really apparent in darker background, and will be more noticeable with smaller aperture, with or without strong light.

GH13 + Nikon G adapter + Nikon prime 50mm 1.8d + UV

some of my friends got same issue without UV, so guess its nothing to do with UV now.

showed as below,

might be something with adapter, but not sure...

btw, no flare found if video or pic indoors, weird...

no one has same issue here ? weird...

This is a known problem with the way the 50/1.8 interacts with digital sensors. I had the same thing show up back in the day of shooting one with a d100. Try a 50/1.4 and you will not have this problem.

O ye, many thanks for updating, i will try with other lens.

(PS, re-confirmed with a friend using kit lens that no "Center" stuck flare found but ordinary one, which all could be improved by light source control as we all knew. )

Known problem with 50/1.8? Really??? I have never heard of this. Do you know where I can find more info on this?

Fin...ally, i got the answer, the issue is very common and known in Nikon users, it's a design flaw for coating on the Nikon standard lens, in other words, the lens, such as 50mm 1.8d and 50mm 1.4d (both have the issue), were not designed for digital cameras especially. The center flare will not appear with traditional film camera.

Bigger iris for lens, smaller contrast for background, will avoid the issue as much as possible.

thank ya !
