Got the 5D2...testing...

I'm gonna get one of these suckers. I already have the 5D, this will be a nice upgrade for stills and hey, wonderfully lookin 1920x1080 video to boot.

Went up to Park City this evening and filmed some test shots with a couple I know.

It was really cold up there but the camera performed great. I shot with 2 LED lights (daylight balanced) outside a bar with a Christmas tree out front. There was a little bit of mixed light from the sodium vapor lights on the walkway in front of the Marriott.

Nikon 85mm again, F 1.4. :)

Yeah, I was going for that look wide open. I'm happy with how sharp it is.

That clip was shot basically auto, and I think you can see a spot where it probably did its shutter/iso adjustment.

More time and I will tame the beast as best as I can. :)

Impressive stuff, I am also surprised at (real film makers might not want to read this next bit) . . . at how good the image comes out when you are in the 'auto-everything' setting.

Exactly--it's surprising how good the video is without doing any fiddling at all.

i hope soon there will be a way (whichever way we arrive there) for it to shoot 24p. when it happens - it's kinda over for d90.

great thing about this camera is that it shows the actual iso/shutter numbers
and aperture is fully controlled with manual nikon lenses.

here are some good tips to get the needed shutter:
