Got Our Hot Rod Cameras AF100 Tuner Kit Today

The Hot Rod Cameras AF100 Tuner Kit arrived to today. It looks like a nice piece of gear. I already had two Letus V2 Rod Support Systems. Everything is very well made, precision gear.

I had the eBay Chinese PL-adapter and back focus was off with my Arri Alura Cine Zoom, the Hot Rod PL-adapter was spot on.

Overall, this is a very nice system and I'll feel good secure knowing it's supporting my lenses and camera, matte box, follow focus.

I would really recommend an Arri base plate to make balancing different setups easier, but I would recommend this with any rod support system.

We've got the Hot Rod plate and adapter over at the store and I had a chance to play around with it, really great piece of machinery. On the Hot Rod Plate, there is a tripod mount that can be moved in between the plate (so basically under the camera) for precise balance, and well as taken out from under the plate and put anywhere on the rig.

I got my Hot Rod tuner kit yesterday and its awesome! Rock solid and ready for anything. I've mounted up everything from cp's to Angenieux 25-250 HR.

Major Rep for Hot Rod gear. The AF100 setup looks and feels extra solid. Add in a-grade customer support and care, definitely no reason to hesitate on purchase if you plan on using PL glass.

Kholi, agreed, I've learned a lot from Illya. A couple of things of note about the Tuner Kit:

The bottom plate is the size and shape of a Sachtler wedge plate found in Video 18, 20 heads and some others, so no wedge plate needed if you have these heads.

Weight rating is 7lbs, so if using a big Cine or SLR zoom, the Arri or Element Technica Dove Tail and base plate is mandatory as is a second set of rails, which is not cheap. Good news about this type of support gear can be used for years and years with many cameras.
