Got my new HVX-200E camera today. (25fps model)

My first impression:
- Fat & heavy, what's that clonking sound??
- Put on battery, clonking gone.
- Where are the firewire and usb cable? ..oh not here?? Would think that a camera for that price had some cables included.

Connected it to my PC using a sony cable, "..drivers could not be installed..."
Connected it to my Mac and did some capture using FinalCut:
- Where are the DVCPRO 720p25 codec???
- Used 1080i 25p, looks good.
- Sound sounds strange... one of the sound channels are 1 frame of sync with the other one... not good.

Seems I been better of just getting the US model with 24fps instead of this, 25fps and a bunch of trouble.
Disappointed!

This camera colud be great and become a universal standard, but now it's just not working. Not mentioning the poor price/storage of P2 today.

Things needed to make this camera great:
- DVCPRO 720p25 driver for FCP
- Ability to capture directly to ordinary firewire drives (not just file copy)

Cheers!
Janne

the US model does not "clonk," although it may "clunk;" some have even heard it "cluck." When I play "Dark Side of the Moon" synced with "The Wizard of Oz," mine "clicks" on the up beat. I understand this is normal though.

All kidding aside, it is normal and is a common question on this site. As for the other suff, haven't used Pal nor FCP.

Apple should better release a great 6.0 version of FCP, because until know they have sleep for a long time...

PAL users are left aside like crap... :(
