My HVX arrived a few days ago and I finally shot some footage with it ... WOW!
Before the HVX, I bought a DVX in late December, not knowing how inferior DV is for chroma keying (I suppose that's the price I paid for not researching the subject first). I do a monthly DVD series for my subscribers with the intent of shooting in front of a green screen ... well ... keying the DV footage was agony. I got decent keys, but only after hours of tweaking and hair pulling.
Enter the HVX ... amazing!! I shot footage in both 720/30p DVCPRO HD and 480/30p DVCPRO 50 and wow!!! I can pull a GREAT key in about 3 minutes using the FCP chroma keyer which I'm told isn't even all that good. I'm impressed. Now if only I had learned all this before buying that darned DVX..............
