Got My HVX set up!

Well, here is my rig. Even though it is mounted on my tripod, it is actually set up for run and gun work. Gotta love the DVRigPro HD!

This has taken me a bit of time (and $$$) to set up but worth it!

everything is too much fun..!

quick question for you - how do you like the dvrig? looking at your reel you have a number of moving shots, are they off the dvrig or?? I'm looking for something for eng and gathering up all the info I can -
thanks - LA

Torgans, if you are going to get a DVRigPro, get the HD version. It gives you more possibilities for mounting gear. For an ENG rig, it's PERFECT, though it will set you back about $600. I tried a couple of others out, but decided on this one because it was very solid compared to the others.

Arges, I agree there is a bit of weight on the 501, but it is balanced pretty good. I have really smooth pans and tilts. If it proves to be too much, well, it will be time for a new head or tripod. What bottle of beer?!?!?! I was having one at the time of taking the pics, but for the life of me, I cannot find it in the pic! Or are you just psychic?

just a question i have the same rode mic as well but i have it with a headphone like jack. did you have an adapter for it

Made it myself. Cut the mini-TRS off and attached an XLR to it. I am an audio engineer, so not that hard. Let me get a little time and I will help you out with directions on how to do it.

It's right next to that dirty sauce pan!

LOL! I mixed some epoxy/fiber crap in that pan. That is my junk room behind there, I never threw the pan away! That is too funny!

Here is a pic of the pin out I used to adapt the Rode Videomic to XLR:

"Hot" is same as "tip". You still need to use the battery, though. Don't try to use on-board phantom power.
