Very well built camera. Lots of buttons and menu choices. I'm a little overwhelmed with all the choices. Can't wait to get the HVX book from Barry when it comes out. Because I have lots of questions about settings.

Patience my friend, Patience. Just sit down and read every page of the manual and try everything out as you go. This camera is in many ways a whole new ballgame.
Enjoy,
Sam

Good advice. I only played with it for a couple hours before I had to go to work. So, I'll be a little more patient... After work I shot some test footage using only the the lights in my dining room. Then played it back on my Panasonic HDTV and it looked amazing. I didn't see any noise, just a beautiful colorful image. The focus assist is really nice, wish I had this feature when I used the DVX. And like everyone else here has said I don't want to shoot tape anymore. It was so nice to just watch the clips and not have to search through a tape for it.

Just stay away from the "GAIN" settings if possible under the AUTO IRIS button, and you will continue to be blissfully happy regarding the relative lack of noise in your high def images... :)
