got a warning: PSD NG

was shooting on vacation last 2 weeks and got a warning in the viewfinder: PSD NG.
i discovered this had to due with image stabilization and the camera's inability to detect motion (according to the handbook.)

i have taken pristine care of my camera - never bumped or dropped it. it was fine before i left for vacation, and then it suddenly appeared.

btw, the warning appears sporactically - sometimes it's there when i turn the camera on, sometimes it isn't.

anybody else have this problem? what did you do? service it or did you take care of it yourself?

it doesn't affect picture quality as i found out when reviewing footage today, but the warning blocks the entire center of the LCD screen. does anyone know how to turn off the warning if i elect not to fix it at this time? i tried turning off several display items in the menu - nothing eliminated the warning.

dectect motion for the image stabilization i suppose. this is what the manual says.

I had this happen to me too. I am taking it in to get repaired because I am not very savvy with repairing electronics. I will let you know what happens. Lame.
