This is technology that has been around for a long time
(weathermen, etc.). Now they have systems that track
the camera movement and zoom angle and adjust the
digitized background to match. But I just need simple
real time compositing.
I'd have the pocket camera feeding an hdmi signal to
some hardware that keyed that in with the background
signal from another source (probably a computer where
you could select the backgrounds). The composited video
would then be shown on a monitor to the "actor" standing
in front of the green screen, so that they could adjust their
positions and movements to match the image on the
screen.
Has anyone set that up on the cheap?
I ran into Camtwist on the web and it seems like a nice
software solution to use with a Blackmagic intensity or
shuttle hardware. Anything else comparable?
