Got a new C6 SD Card, won't work-and now old C6 won't work either!

I'm really kinda confused right now as to what happened. What I know is that I finally got a new Class 6 SD card in the mail the other day that I bought off eBay (from a Chinese dealer I believe) for an incredible 20 bucks... I got it three weeks later and it wasn't even packaged in the transcend sealed box, it was just straight up in a little card holder (That actually was kinda broken) in an envelope.... So I go to try to put it in my HMC and it says "check card" and unable to format. So I take it in my computer, erase the disk, and it still won't work! And now my old Trusty efilm pro 16gb C6 won't work either! It won't come up on my mac nor will it work in my HMC!! So I'm really kinda screwed right now as I'm just trying to get out the door to Cosa Mesa with my buddies for the Volcom Damn Am Contest...

Any quick words or tips will highly be appreciated.

I don't know if its possible on an HMC150, but when my VX2100 did the same thing with batteries, (Bought a generic batt, put it in, and then my 2 genuine batts didn't work) I hit reset with a pencil on the tiny little button by the tripod mount.

If you can, you might want to try that.

I looked at the Transcend's stats on my HMC and it actually says it's a Class 4, even though on the sticker it says 6.... bootleg I'm thinkin... fuuuuh

Bingo - the same happened to me too. Class 6 from China - the Camera says Check Card but the card works in the computer. Go figure....
 
I would probably never buy flash memory from Ebay. There's no reason to try and save a few bucks on something that's going to last forever and be vital to a production. A 16 GB Patriot here in town is $40 , and I've used that one as my primary card for 3 months now, never a problem. Probably got over 100 GB written to it.

But.. I don't see the need to spend $230 on a 32 GB SanDisk Ultra 3 XBR Gold Stealth Whatsit edition either. Some cards are priced so insane, I look at them like the Monster Cable of SDHC cards, and people who spend $30/ft on oxygen-plated tri-polymer gold foil kevlar sheathed audio cable have more money than good sense.

Try formatting the card on a PC, or stick it in some other device and give it a workout, see how it does.

Not all cards will work with streaming data.
 
LOL i got one of those cards to off ebay.. I have had it for a week..and cant bring myself to put it in my camera! heheheheh paid 15.00 for it
