GoPro vs other Crashcams

GoPro seems to own most of the market for crash cams, but I wonder how they compare to the alternatives. For example I have a Panny TS2 which is a ruggedized waterproof pocket cam that takes both stills and video. It shoots AVCHD "lite" at 17Mbs/sec and I actually like it better as a video cam than a stills cam. It has a real zoom lens, OIS and a bunch of other nice features including audio (built in mic) and is in the same price range or less than a GoPro. Of course, GoPro has more mounting options, but the TS2 can be operated like a real cam with frame rates, zoom and a decent VF. The zoom and VF is a pretty big deal to me. At times, this cam has produced some pretty amazing footage for what it is, even underwater, but like any mostly auto-minicam sometimes it stumbles. If I have time to choose one of the very numerous scene files, it gets better. Wondering if anyone has any comparison info? There are also new cams coming online from JVC and Sony. I wouldn't mind upgrading if there was anything better in the $300 price range, but don't know whether it would be any real improvement. Any opines would be appreciated.
